UAT-UK does not define a “good” TMUA score or publish a pass mark.
For the October 2025 and January 2026 sittings, UAT-UK says a typical candidate scored around 4.5 and approximately 10% scored above 7.0. Those are national distribution facts. They are not university offer thresholds.What the official score scale tells us
TMUA results are reported as one overall score from 1.0 to 9.0, to one decimal place. The score is statistically equated, so it is not the percentage of questions answered correctly. UAT-UK also states that the score scale changed in 2024; results from 2023 and earlier should not be compared directly with current scores.
UAT-UK does not publish an official label for every decimal score. Claims such as “6.0 is safe” or “6.5 guarantees an interview” therefore need university-specific evidence.
Imperial's published 2025 applicant data
Imperial publishes an interactive dashboard for the 2025 entry cycle. It reports mean TMUA scores by department and application outcome. The figures below reproduce those published means to one decimal place.
The pattern is different across departments. That is direct evidence for why one university-wide definition of a “good score” would be misleading.

What universities actually publish
The most useful evidence is always attached to a named course and year. Current public guidance does not support a single cutoff covering every TMUA university.
Its admissions FAQ states that no specific TMUA score is required. The result forms part of the overall assessment.
The 2025 means above describe past applicants; they are not an admissions boundary.
For 2025 entry, Warwick says the majority of offers went to applicants scoring 5.0 or above, with some offers below 5.0 after holistic assessment.
This is course-specific historical context, not a future guarantee.
Warwick says offers normally include either TMUA 5.0 or STEP grade 2 as an alternative condition.
This is an offer condition for named courses, not a universal definition of “good”.
UAT-UK states that there is no pass mark and no grade boundary for TMUA.
Any admissions interpretation must come from the university using the result.
Why older TMUA scores need a warning label
The current score scale was introduced for the 2024/25 admissions cycle. UAT-UK says scores from 2023 and earlier are not directly comparable with scores from 2024 onwards. An old university statement about a 6.5, for example, should not be read as though it referred to the current scale.

Do not transfer old admissions figures directly.
